There’s a rainbow,
Over a garden of flowers,
The gate is swung open,
They tell me all day long,
And the birds are chirpin’ there,
And the grasshoppers are hoppin’,
The fountain is gurglin’,
Ain’t this where we belong?
 (Repeat)

I woke up this mornin’
I thought about our lives,
I looked at your sad eyes,
I said, 'this can’t be right'
When my precious baby
Is so tired of strugglin’,
We’re too tired for lovin’,
When we lay down at night,

Yet, there’s a rainbow,
Over a garden of flowers,
The gate is swung open,
They tell me all day long,
And the birds are chirpin’,
And the grasshoppers are hoppin’,
The fountain is gurglin’,
Ain’t this where we belong?

I'm gonna take my baby’s hand,
And go down to the ocean,
Breathe in that fresh air,
Put our feet into the sand,
‘Cause I’ve been thinkin’ about the words,
Of the late Johnny Lennon,
He said, ‘life is what happens
When we’re makin’ other plans’,

And there’s a rainbow,
Over a garden of flowers,
The gate is swung open,
They tell me all day long,
And the birds are chirpin’,
And the grasshoppers are hoppin’,
The fountain is gurglin’,
Ain’t this where we belong?
