The snow’s cold, ain’t it?
My toes are froze, dang it,
Here on the old Broadway,
But I’m not a sad one,
No sir, I’m a glad one,
For love has shined my way,

I’ll take the subway down,
To the Lower Side of town,
'Cause outside
She waits for me,
Outside
The Waverly.

We arrived on a Greyhound,
Fleeing the old town,
Where they said we were no good,
Who’d have expected this corker?
Befriended by New Yorkers!
They said they understood.

I’ll take the subway down,
To the Lower Side of town,
'Cause outside
She waits for me,
Outside
The Waverly.

My family whispers
That I’m crazy,
Lazy and filled with wishes,
How smug they be tonight,
Knowing I spent my whole day

W
ashing dishes.

And the snow’s cold, ain’t it?
My toes are froze, dang it,
Here on the old Broadway,
Where we’ve known love and laughter,
And we still will hereafter,
'Cause New York is where we’re gonna stay!

I’ll take the subway down,
To the Lower Side of town,
'Cause outside
She waits for me,
Outside
The Waverly.
